MUSIC: Roots Radical!

What do you get when you mix Rancid with gaming music? 8-BIT PUNK FUN! This is a tribute to NES gaming and parody of Rancid’s punk anthem “Roots Radicals.”

How many NES references can you name?

Took a Chocobo out the Mushroom Kingdom

Ganon, he was out there, he was looking for me

All the old wanderers and the shop keepers

Are out on the corners of Brecconary

I got a notion, you know I hit the potions

You know I don’t remember too much of that trip

Something struck me loopy when we ran out of rupees

Where do you go now when you’re only level 3?

With the rhythm getting bloopy and the repetitions looping

It speaks to me, and it goes

Give them the boot, the roots are digital

Give them the boot, you know it’s original

Give them the boot the roots, the MIDI on my Nintendo

The soundtrack was slammin’ and Uematsu’s organ jammin’

But enemies get stronger when we cross the bridge

Nothing incoming but the battle theme was thumping

And none of us were too well-equipped.

“It’s just a leever” and I picked up the ether

Please Mr. Belmont we need someone strong

Cool steely Samus was an armored warrior

My pixeled vision saw nothing wrong.

With the rhythm getting bloopy and the repetitions looping

It speaks to me, and it goes

Give them the boot, the roots are digital

Give them the boot, you know it’s original

Give them the boot the roots, the MIDI on my Nintendo
